2014 Lake Festival - July 26

Jul 17, 2014

The third annual Skootamatta Lake Festival is coming up on July 26! That’s only two short weeks away and we want YOU to attend! All are welcome so bring your kids, grandkids, family and cottage guests out to Trail’s End on Saturday July 26 for lots of fun on the lake.  Registration begins at10:30 am and events start at 11:00 am.  The event runs until the last laddergolf ball is thrown.

Highlights include:

NEW EVENT: Tri Generation Team “TRYathlon”

Kids, grab your grandma! Grab your dad! Grab your neighbour next door! Put a team of 3 people together - one under 15, one  between 15 and 59, and one over 60 - your cumulative ages need to add up to a minimum of 100 years.  Then decide who will run, who will swim, and who will kayak.  The goal is to have FUN as a team tackling a very “Do-able TRYathlon” route that consists of a short run, a 50m swim, and a 100m kayak paddle.  Let us know in advance by email if you are interested in putting a team together so we know how many to expect.

Kids’ Activities: Bouncy castle with slide, “Milkweed for Monarchs” planting, three legged race, face painting, water balloon toss, Freezies and many more fun games for kids of all ages

Kayak and Swim Races: Get set to take part in swimming and kayak races according to age categories.  Bring your kayak or borrow one from someone else on-site! Don’t forget your swim goggles!

Teen Laddergolf: Get a team together and play off for the championship!

NEW THIS YEAR: Adult Laddergolf tournament (taking the place of Horseshoes).  Rules available at Skootamatta.ca

BBQ Lunch: Thanks to our fellow Skootamatta cottagers Mike and Suzanne Stevens, of Country Traditions Frozen Food in Napanee, for again donating all the hotdogs, burgers and their time to cook!

VOLUNTEERS are really needed to make this day amazing for all of us! Please contact Nancy Kallina to sign up to volunteer for an hour or so on the day: nancy.kallina@gmail.com.

Can’t wait to see you at the 2014 Lake Festival!
