How is the swimming at Skootamatta lake? Is it clean, etc? Any help from people familiar with it would be appreciated. We have 3 young children. Thank you.
Swimming conditions will vary from one area to the next. Swimming from the beaches is usually always great for kids since the water depth increases gradually. The only areas I would not recommend are near the dam, as under-currents can be quite strong and dangerous, or in marsh areas where there tends to be a lot of plant life and can make swimming unpleasant. Otherwise the waters are very clean and most areas don't have any problems.
